Highlight in Hamadori
Hotel Minatoya
Hotel Minatoya is located right on the fishing port of Matsukawaura, a popular area in the city of Soma. It overlooks the bay and Matsukawaura Prefectural Natural Park, its pine groves, beaches, and sea front chosen as one of the 100 Famous Views of Japan. The hotel, which first reopened to cater to workers involved in reconstruction in the aftermath of the March 2011 disaster, now offers a wide range of accommodation plans to a variety of guests. Packages are available from meal-less plans, to those with basic meals, to luxury plans that offer the best seafood from the region’s waters as well as dishes featuring highly respected Soma beef. The seasonal ingredients are specially purchased at the market each morning for that day’s menu. All the rooms face the east and offer beautiful sunrise views of the sea. The two large communal baths (men’s and women’s) were recently renovated, ready for guests to relax from busy days of work, travel, sightseeing or other activities.
