FUKUSHIMA HAMADORI COASTAL AREA

Shinchi Marine Fishing Park

Located on the Pacific coast just south of the town of Shinchi, this fishing park is known among fishing enthusiasts as one of the best in Japan. The coast of northern Japan is known for its wide variety of fish species, and this spot—where the warm water from a nearby thermal power plant flows—draws a number of them here year-round. The park can be used by everyone from beginners to advanced anglers. The catch and species varies depending on the time of year, but includes snapper, flounder, fat greening, and yellowtail. The facility has rods (for casting), bait (sand worms and krill), traps, weights, buckets, armchairs, etc. available for rent, so contact the park if you are interested in using these services. Reservations can be made up to one month in advance by phone. Please note that the park is closed in inclement weather situations such as during typhoons or periods of heavy rain.
